In this Voices interview, Vice President of Clinical Account Management at Dragonfly Health, Ryan Krout, sits down with Hospice News to share share how his role has evolved within the newly unified organization, why connected data matters for hospice operators and how unified care models will shape the year ahead.
Hospice News: Ryan, this is your third time speaking with us for our Voices series, but your first under your new title and a newly unified organization. Can you share how your role has evolved following Enclara Pharmacia becoming part of Dragonfly Health?
Ryan Krout: It’s been an incredibly exciting evolution. My title is now Vice President of Clinical Account Management, which reflects how we’ve brought our clinical and relationship teams closer together. The most meaningful change is the scope of what we can deliver to our clients. In the past, we were looking at that exclusively through the lens of traditional hospice pharmacy data. Now that we are a combined organization operating as the unified backbone of care-at-home, we wake up every day looking at a much broader landscape. We get to apply that same clinical and consultative mindset to pharmacy, durable medical equipment (DME), and coordinated home services across longer and more diverse patient trajectories. In the process, we are uncovering new opportunities to help our clients manage their operations and improve the experience of care.
Speaking of combining those two worlds, what are some of the specific clinical benefits that come from having a single provider handle both pharmacy and DME data?
Data drives better clinical decisions. Providing total visibility empowers clinicians with the comprehensive insights needed to safeguard patient comfort and dignity. Historically, pharmacy and DME operated in silos, unaware of what the other was doing. By bringing both data streams into a single platform, our clinical teams can identify risks and opportunities with far greater precision. It’s a more holistic, evidence-based approach that improves care while also helping organizations better manage their workflows and spending.
